Phillippines

Auro Chocolate is an internationally awarded tree-to-bar sustainable chocolate brand that works directly with local farmers to create fine Filipino cacao beans, ingredients and retail products with unique and bold tropical flavours.

Brand Snapshot

Auro starts with the right intent. A Filipino chocolate brand highlighting its provenance and how that shapes the do-good and taste-good of the product. But in places, it is beginning to confuse. There are moments where it projects a premium Filipino chocolate story, refined in its identity, focused on its tree-to-bar purpose story and proud of its gold standard product (the hint is in the name.) But at other moments, it’s a colorful and quirky expression that seems to run counter to it. What’s missing then is a clear take on the character of Filipino chocolate – if it is just high quality and sustainable, there’s a lot of options. But when we bite that bar sitting at home in a far-off land, what feeling should it invoke? It is hinted at being in the bold tropical flavors, so the question is - at what point does the brand bring that treasure chest of taste to life?
