Fields of Yarrow is a clean skincare brand from Bali. It uses only natural and local ingredients.

Brand Snapshot

Bali has always been one of the region’s most untapped assets for brands looking for markets internationally. Whether you agree or not, there’s an island allure that keeps people coming back - even if the ideals of palm trees and white sand have long been paved over. Nevertheless, Bali’s ongoing success is in how it has become a patchwork of rich subcultures for transient tourists to dip their toes into. The winning formula seems to be “don’t just do it, become it.” Don’t just surf, become a surfer. Don’t just eat, become a foodie. Don’t just do yoga, become a yogi.

Fields of Yarrow is tapping into that reality with a seed-to-skin brand that combines some of Bali’s best ingredients, both the essential as well as esoteric ones. It is caring for skin and soul. Its products use local flora and fauna as well as, in some, incorporating crystals for an added failsafe: apply evenly with Rose Quartz or Tiger Eye. The brand eschews a respect for nature through a frost-green identity. In everything from the use of soy-based ink to packaging made of glass, the brand feels as earthy as its own organic garden. In doing so, it is making a strong attempt to bottle up some of the healing power people find in Bali - drawing a skin thin line between body and nature.

The name is an asset. Evocative, conjuring a fictional image of grainy, misty grassy-ness. It is refreshing that the brand did not opt for the obvious trope of a beach. Instead, the field-ness helps to emphasise the brand’s missive of nature as ultimate healer. And for many people, that is the island’s very message too. Perhaps, soon, Fields of Yarrow will save them the trip.
